Core idea: "You can train Claude on your (best) LinkedIn posts." Export your post history, have Claude analyse what actually performs, then bake those findings into a reusable Claude skill that drafts new posts in your proven style.
The Full Process¶
Step 1 — Extract LinkedIn posts (~$2–5)¶
Use Apify to pull public posts (no automation on your own account — respects LinkedIn ToS):
- Free account at Apify console — gives ~$5 free credit.
- Open the LinkedIn posts actor.
- Paste a LinkedIn profile URL with the recommended settings.
- Wait 2–10 min for the run.
- Export as spreadsheet (CSV / XLSX).
Capture includes: post content, engagement metrics, media URLs, and timestamps (encoded in the activity IDs).
Step 2 — Analyse with Claude¶
Feed the export to Claude with an analysis prompt ("Treat this as a serious analytics deliverable"). It should:
- Calculate engagement (likes + comments + shares).
- Identify post format (text, image, video, carousel, article).
- Analyse angle / hook patterns.
- Flag outlier performers.
- Produce Stop / Continue / Start recommendations.
- Output two deliverables: a written report and an SOP.
Key instruction: "For visual posts don't judge from the caption alone: actually OPEN THE MEDIA and look at it."
Step 3 — Turn it into a reusable Claude skill¶
In the same chat:
/skill-creator— "Create a skill combining what matters inside the content report… Call the skill [your-name]-viral."
The skill should: embed the report insights, ask clarifying questions first (AskUserQuestion), then generate multiple angle/hook variations with captions + media guidance. Save it so it's reusable across new chats.
Step 4 (optional) — Extract an ultra-viral "recipe"¶
For a standout post: screenshot it, then
/skill-creator— "This post went extremely viral… capture the recipe."
Claude extracts format, hook (first lines), caption structure, and tone into a skill you can apply to new content.
Limitations (author's own caveats)¶
- "AI isn't creative… it's really good at following instructions." Best for iteration, not pure novelty.
- Needs a real cadence (≥ ~weekly) and works best with 30+ quality posts.
- "It does not work if you're bad at LinkedIn."
- Claude subscription ~$100/mo.
Example result: from 489 analysed posts, Claude generated 5 post options, each with caption copy + image direction consistent with historical top performers.
